How do I fix an error message on my computer?
Q. Everytime I turn on my computer within a few minutes I get an error message that says Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close. After I close the dialog box I lose all sound on my computer. I have tried to figure this out on my own but I am not that technical. It is getting really annoying does anyone know how to fix this?

If you also got this error message: Svchost.exe application error. The… [cont.]

A. You boot up software is not functioning normally. Most likely, the boot sectors (software code) contains a bad disk location/s causing the incomplete operation of the boot software. Sometime, re-boot the computer will resolve the problem. Or you can use the safe mode to bring the computer up.

Asked by the man - Tue Jul 31 19:20:21 2007 - Software - 1 Answers - Comments

A. I have seen this error caused by bad memory. A virus is also suspect, but it is less likely that is the problem. Do you happen to have extra RAM around that you can install in this system? If so, try that out. Or pull the RAM one at a time if you have more than one stick installed. If that does not help, and you have tried a virus scan, try following the Microsoft link below for instructions on xp recovery:
