Do you think being an outsider is erroneously romanticized?
Q. Especially being an outcast can be very miserable. But instead of that image, we get the 'Lone Wolf' brand, or the 'unique' euphemism.
Asked by As it should be - Fri Feb 3 05:59:16 2012 - Sociology - 1 Answers - Comments
A. I don't know where you live, but that has not been my experience. "Lone Wolf" is not a romantic term where I live. Not at all. Loners are not looked upon positively, or even neutrally, but negatively in sociology. Being an outcast has those negative connotations. If being an outcast was a good thing, we would all strive for that.

When you get a question reported erroneously, what message do you send to customer care?
Q. I recently sent this... How in the world can this be chatting when it was a question. I seriously think some of your employees are just sitting there and hitting the "We don't care button" and not even looking at some of the things that are being reported. And you people wonder why you lose more and more customers every day.

A. I know what you mean. I got a violation on a question that was closed and resolved well over a month ago. they didn't give me a reason either. They just said read the terms & guidelines. Thanks for breaking it down ya idiots. So, I appealed and they then said a question will be deleted if nobody answers with in 4 days. HA! I had 8-10 answers on that question!!! idiots!!! That is why I put everything on lock down recently with my account. I wasn't sure if it was a person of if it was Y!A that giving me the violation. I almost didn't come back I was so angry. I would have left for sure if this was a site I had to pay for. Now I will probably get a violation for "chatting"

do printers usually start printing strange and erroneously in color when their low in color ink?
Q. i got a Kodak ESP-3 printer and when I try to print in color I get this weird dark prints with what looks like a negative film image. Is this common for being low in color ink? I doubted that the indicator before was accurate just because sometimes the printer/OS says it is out of ink all together and then it'll show it has enough ink and print just fine. Thank-you for reading :)
Asked by Pensivefox - Mon Jun 7 17:13:39 2010 - Printers - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Yes. When printing, colours are made up of magenta, cyan and yellow. If the printer runs out of one of those colours, it will make things look very strange.

Emails from members erroneously marked as span?
Q. Some messages from a few members of my group are sporadically, and erroneously, labeled as spam. Some messages get thru, others do not and I have to approve each one. What is going on and how do I stop it? Thanks.
Asked by Tres E - Mon Mar 16 17:22:13 2009 - Spam & Bulk Mail - 1 Answers - Comments
A. This happens sometime. Even with the address of the E-mail being in your address book to let them know that address is safe, sometimes an E-mail has the look of spam and will get send into the spam box. You go in and check mark the item, then click the 'Not spam' button and the mail will be returned to your inbox. You can turn off the spamguard; but personally, I would rather go into the spam box periodically than get all of that stuff back into my in box.

When should you keep you mouth shut when your boss erroneously accuse you of something?
Q. My boss made the mistake of taking a co-worker's (who hates me) word that I had made an error, but found out later (by written documentation) that the co-worker had failed to check the chart accurately. Now she (my boss) is setting little traps for me to see if I am doing my job on the midnight shift. Is it wrong to stand up for yourself if it will make your supervisor look stupid?
Asked by - Thu Sep 6 10:56:48 2007 - Other - Careers & Employment - 2 Answers - Comments
A. Ask to meet with your supervisor privately and tell her that you realize someone reported an error you had made, but you can clarify that it was not an error. just leave it at that. if you're doing your job, the little traps won't matter.

Has your MD ever erroneously chauked up unrelated illnesses to your psychological illness?
Q. I have heard of this happening. Someone with a history of psychological illness seeking help from their primary caregiver for say, a suspected gynaecological problem, unrelated to their depression, and not being taken seriously; having to seek out help, elsewhere, to uncover the real etiology, all the while, not well. I imagine this would take a lot of energy one does not have. May I ask, is this common? Has this happened to you or anyone you know? Any thoughts, at all, about this?

A. Well I think it is very common for a doctor to say that alot of aches and pains and illnesses are are part of depression when they cannot find proof of the illness. If they just don't know what they are dealing with. So yeah I have seen alot of patients be told it was part of depression or something just to find out years later it was arthritis or fibromyalgia, or MS. I worked for some doctors that if the patient complained about more than about 3 symptoms they thought they did not take them seriously. But I don't think it was necessarily a patient with a history of psychological illness, just any patient they thought whined to much or exaggerated or complained about too many symptoms. The thing is if you know in your gut something is… [cont.]

How do I re-open a question that has erroneously been changed to resolved and not accepting any more answers?
Q. I posted a question & got an answer in a few hours. I responded & the question's status turned to 'resolved" and closed. How do I reverse the closure so I can get additional answers? I never used this program before and am not very computer literate. Help! I re asked the same question so if you see it twice it's not a mistake - expect mine. Sorry. If you can tell me how to reinstate the question as active, then I won't have to do that again. Can I respond to an answerer and not have the question be made inactive? Help!
