What type of attorney should I meet with if my tax refund was offset erroneously?
Q. The company that took the funds (without ever contacting me about any of it), refuses to give us back our money even though we proved it was not our debt. Help!
Asked by Debbie S - Thu Mar 5 22:12:32 2009 - United Kingdom - 1 Answers - Comments

A. a company (private) can not take your tax refund with out a court judgement against you , and in most states a tax offset is still not going to happen unless it's a government offset . for unpaid taxes, student loans or child support

Why do liberals erroneously believe that Che Guevera was not a violent despot?

A. To such persons ... He was cool even if he did slaughter fathers in front of their families. That is, despotic liberals are only interested in the narrative the legend the coolness. Reality bugs them. They celebrate and live a dream life in shared fictions. Some of those slaughtered by good old Che were like that too. Dreamers who never saw IT coming. Who, anyway, ever sees IT coming. G0d's goodness is measured too by that most eras dreamers can dream in those long good watered pasture eras. But then, the cups of delusion overflow, the dreamers too indulged to watch them. What overflows a cup of delusion is a caustic acid that eats through the foundations and all else. While the dreamers abeds go on dreaming, the foundation and floor… [cont.]

I erroneously claimed American Opportunity Credit when not eligible. Should I amend or forget it?
Q. I erroneously claimed American Opportunity Credit when not eligible. I am only eligible for Lifetime Learning Credit. The difference is $1600. Should I just forget about it and hope the IRS doesn't notice? Or should I amend immediately and pay? Or can I wait till April 15th, then amend, and wait for them to bill me?
Asked by - Mon Mar 1 12:24:17 2010 - United States - 4 Answers - Comments

A. You can wait until April 15, amend your original return, and pay at that time. If you "hope the IRS doesn't notice" and they do, you will be responsible for paying back not only the $1,600, but interest and penalties as well. If you amend and don't pay back by April 15, you will be responsible for paying back the $1,600 plus interest. The least expensive option is to amend and pay the amount due by the due date.

How do I re-open a question that has erroneously been changed to resolved and not accepting any more answers?
Q. I posted a question & got an answer in a few hours. I responded & the question's status turned to 'resolved" and closed. How do I reverse the closure so I can get additional answers? I never used this program before and am not very computer literate. Help! I re asked the same question so if you see it twice it's not a mistake - expect mine. Sorry. If you can tell me how to reinstate the question as active, then I won't have to do that again. Can I respond to an answerer and not have the question be made inactive? Help!
Asked by Suzanne F - Sun Sep 16 05:27:29 2007 - Yahoo! Answers - 3 Answers - Comments

A. I am sorry but the answer once resolved becomes Yahoo property and is archived. There is no way to re-open the question the best that you can do is to ask the question again in the hope that you will get the answers you seek.

Why do people think, erroneously, that there's no difference between 401k and 403b plans?
Q. The two sections of he tax code are quite similar, but they're NOT the same! For example, if you work for an educational institution, you can have additional, after tax money withheld from your paycheck and contributed to a second 403b plan. The limit is $46,000 for the total of an individual's contributions to before and after tax plans. This typically requires additional work on the part of your employer, because a second plan must be set up.
Asked by lbpsfl - Sun Aug 22 13:40:43 2010 - Personal Finance - 1 Answers - Comments

A. The simple answer is that they don't know any better. People who have not educated themselves on or researched different types of retirement accounts think they're all the same. They look at 401k and 403b, and all they see is the numbers. They think, since they almost look alike and they're both offered by employers, they must be the same. It's just ignorance.

Fidelity Mortgage sells a mortgage on Doug's home to Enterprise Bank.Enterprise erroneously pays the real esta
Q. te taxes on the home. When Enterprise demands reimbursment, Doug refuses, arguing that no contract exists that obligates him to reimburse the bank. What legal theory might Enterprise use to get its money from Doug?
Asked by loveme1711 - Sat Nov 3 21:02:38 2007 - Personal Finance - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Was there an escrow account set up for taxes in the original loan with Fidelity? If not, chances are Doug also paid the taxes to the county unless Enterprise brought it to Doug's attention that they had already paid them. If Doug did pay them as well, the county should reimburse Enterprise. There are very few counties that will apply the overpayment to the next tax installment. Enterprise can attempt to collect from Doug, but legally nothing can be done.

Asked by Tres E - Mon Mar 16 17:22:13 2009 - Spam & Bulk Mail - 1 Answers - Comments

A. This happens sometime. Even with the address of the E-mail being in your address book to let them know that address is safe, sometimes an E-mail has the look of spam and will get send into the spam box. You go in and check mark the item, then click the 'Not spam' button and the mail will be returned to your inbox. You can turn off the spamguard; but personally, I would rather go into the spam box periodically than get all of that stuff back into my in box.

Do the sciences erroneously encourage a view of knowledge that suppresses truth in favor of reality?
Q. BQ2: How are truth and reality different? BQ: Is truth reducible to reality?
Asked by Zappa Fan - Sun Nov 22 14:58:44 2009 - Philosophy - 4 Answers - Comments

A. There is no difference between small-t truth and reality. What's true is what's real, and what's real is what's true. Reality and truth are essentially synonyms. There IS a difference between reality and the capital-T "Truth" promulgated by religions. That "Truth" is actually just dogma, aka "revelation" or scripture. Such Truth bears little relation to truth or reality; Truth is mere belief, what we _desire_ to be true regardless of whether it actually is or not.

A. 1. Who do you mean? YAT, CC or other users? If you mean YAT and/or CC, they are only human beings and can make a mistake once in a while, if any. I have lately read about many suspensions that have been over turned. Now as for users, yes there are many who abuse the system only to annoy the other users. 2. All reports are send by the users, they are the ones who report weather trusted or not. 3. Not true, if you violate the CG+TOS you are supposed to suffer the corresponding repercussions. 4. I don't know if I have shed any light, I have only stated what I truly believe is correct. If you have any doubts just read the CG+TOS and you will have first hand answers. Regards
