From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The word error has different meanings and usages relative to how it is conceptually applied. The concrete meaning of the Latin word error is "wandering" or "straying". To the contrary of an illusion, an error or a mistake can sometimes be dispelled through knowledge (knowing that one is looking at a mirage and not at real water doesn't make the mirage disappear). However, some errors can occur even when individuals have the required knowledge to perform a task correctly. Examples include forgetting to collect change after buying chocolate from a vending machine, forgetting the original document after making photocopies, and forgetting to turn the gas off after cooking a meal. Q. This occured after the filters got filled up with debris. I have now cleaned the filters but error wont go away. Is there a simple fix/reset? What does running the engineers cycle do? I bought an Indesit one and it had a fault straight away saying the filter was blocked. Hotpoint's engineer tried to fix it. I believe the final analysis was that I was unlucky in buying a faulty dishwasher and they replaced it with a new one. Problem is, not much in them and what you can find, you can't do much with them. I have a feeling a little computer chip has gone down. Usually appliances have 2 or 3 that speak to each other and sometimes the only way to solve the problem is to change the lot. If resetting it won't work then you may have to buy a new one. Is there a manufacturers website with the instructions?
